SPYS 'R US
Antonio Prohias, the Cuban Imigrant and originator of the Spy v. Spy cartoon in Mad Comics, would be dismayed at the way the spying has morphed from America versus the KGB and other Soviet Block agencies to a circus of Americans spying and reporting on one another. He would also be dismayed at the notion
that our government was trying to create a system where at least
one out of 24 citizens was engaged as a spy for the government.
Suppose you had the furnace man come to your house to work on
or inspect your furnace and he saw this:
Suppose the man was one of those who feared guns and decided, because you actually have thousands of primers,
a bench full of shells, a number of 5 pound and 1 pound cannisters of powder and a reloading press, that you were obviously a "terrorist." Do we have to waste our time looking up all the citations in news across the nation where just such gunowners were accused of having an "arsenal" because of these posessions? Would we have to look up the citations to remind you of the previous Administration, and Congressional folk, attempting to categorize various combinations of firearms and/or reloading equipment as an "arsenal?"
Here are just a few examples of people turning in people for
various comments, one of which was obviously incredibly stupid,
as in "yelling 'FIRE' during a movie," but were still first amendment protections. Here also, thanks to Dieter Dahmen ,is an EXAMPLE of just where this thing is going to go if it keeps the momentum it presently exhibits. Are we so insipidly stupid to recognize that, though they were unsuccessful in many of their attempts to make those laws stick, the concept of arsenals has stuck in the minds of our dumbed-down, paranoid citizenry?
It is true we could also insert articles about doctors asking
their patients children about guns in the house, and many other
spying matters, but, as above, how many citations do we have to provide to prove something we have already seen taking place in many venues of American Society?
