MILITIA 101 Introduction

American Flag flying upside down as signal of DISTRESS

Recall that CJJ had painted a very negative picture of the milita groups by alluding to the skin-head, racist, talk-alot-do-nothing picture that seems to be extant. Then read Badger's introduction:

I am Badger of the Colorado State Defense Force, "Colorado Minutemen." I do know that you are not painting with a broad brush when you said, "I am not suggesting joining "militia groups" because some of them are like Penny the toothless MGM lion who roared in the introduction of their movies. A few are racist laden..." but I do wish you could find a better way to describe the stupid but brave souls that are willing to do the ultimate sacrifice when the time comes. I have tried like hell to fight negative publicity about Militia units for a long time now, and it hurts me to see comments like this. I would like to say that Americans not only should find a unit to train with, but should realize that all ablebodied/ableminded male Americans between ages 18 and 45 are already dutybound members of the Militia in either duty or support roles. It is our responsibility to keep up the training and preparedness as to enforce our freedoms. Yes some red-neck groups are biggoted white boys. Here in Colorado where at least 1 in 4 Citizen Soldiers are Hispanic and a couple of African Americans that I know of, I don't see any racism amoung "field types" but maybe one or two old Nazis at the gun show selling and trading Nazi stuff. My wife is Hispanic/Yaki indian, I'm a white boy. Don't mean to "token."

My advise is go to Rifle Clubs, Patriot gatherings, etc. and just hang out for a while and the people who belong together will eventually find each other. When you go to interview for a Militia unit, remember to ask them questions also.

  • "How do you guys feel about different races or religions?"
  • "Do you allow cops (Peace Officers, not Law Enforcement) to join?"
  • "Do you guys mess with explosives or automatic weapons?"
  • "Do you promote out in the open?"
  • "Do you go out and train at least once a month?"
  • "Do you do anything or have you offered to do anything for the community?"

Don't ask something that will scare them away like, "Do you guys have a hit list?" You will find out when you are trusted enough or you need to know.

While you are hanging out waiting for contacts to develop, you must go out, study, and start training all by yourself. Soon you will have a friend out there with you, then more will come one by one. Some will be flakes and not show up. Some will piss you or one of your members off and will prove to be un-popular. If you are blatently out in the open with your unit's existance you will even end up with an infiltrator or two. It's a long process, but you better start now as to end up eventually with a fairly effective hit and run guerilla unit. Don't use ranks until actual war breaks out, because the Feds go after the leaders!

Tactical hints: Train good people for sniping but train other more average Patriots to raid and ambush logistics and small units.

By all means join JBS (Informative influence) and/or TRT (confrontational and in their face) for plan-A, but prepare for plan-B (Fighting). You have no right to engage in plan-B if you haven't tried plan-A to the best of your ability!

Better a target, than a victim! "Watch your six and keep your powder dry!"
